How to Organize Your Beauty Products

Organizing your cosmetics and skincare should be easy. However, it can be hard to know where to start in a bathroom full of clutter. With these simple steps your bathroom will transform into an easy-to-use oasis that will be a fun place to get ready! A little organization and decluttering will streamline your routine and ensure your products are being used.

Pull Everything Out

Start your decluttering process by removing everything from its original place. Once its all out on the floor, go through each individual item and determine if it brings you joy. This method shows you the available space unencumbered by stuff so you can assess the storage you have clearly.

Throw Out Expired/Used Products

Now that everything is out of its place throw out the easy ones. Check expiration dates and toss products that are long past due. Next, throw away any unnecessary packaging that you may have kept around. Check your collection for used up product samples or samples that you didn’t like. Also notice any makeup bags that you are just keeping around because they were a gift with purchase. If you aren’t using it, it’s time to say goodbye.

Designate a Space for Favorites

Just like a good pair of jeans we all reach for our favorites more often. Find the items that you reach for the most and put them in an easily accessible location in your bathroom. Whether you have countertop storage, cabinets or drawers place them at the forefront.

Designate a Space for Travel/Specialty Products

While most travel excursions and special events are on the back burner this year, this is still a good tip, nonetheless. Grab a cosmetic bag or bin and place your least used items there. That way when you are looking for them, you’ll know exactly where they are.

Use Drawer Dividers

Once you are ready to put your remaining items back in their place, try drawer dividers! That way when you open and close your drawers your products won’t slide out of place. This effect can also be achieved through bins, especially if you have cabinet space rather than drawers. While dividers and bins will take up some of that storage space, they will force you to choose your products with intention.

With the world still waiting to open back up taking some time to organize your bathroom could be a fun weekend activity! Taking charge of your space will bring a new perspective to your home. Happy Organizing!
