How to Makeover Your Bedroom in an Afternoon

With the holidays approaching a breather between daily stress is right around the corner. If you are taking time away from work or school, consider using that time to transform your space for a peaceful transition to the New Year. However, a room makeover doesn’t necessarily have to mean an HGTV team and a new furniture budget. Using these five quick tips you can give your room that much needed refresh in the span of an afternoon.

1. Tidy Up

The best way to transform your space is to give it a little attention. Taking the time to make your bed, clean your surfaces or take out the trash is a great way to take pride in your space. Having those little things crossed off your list will make it so much easier to enjoy your bedroom. When your eyeline in simplified it will bring you peace. If you want to take it one step further, start a donation pile of old or unused items to give away.

2. Rearrange furniture

Many of us do not have the budget to completely redecorate a bedroom, however, were not going to let that stop us from a refresh! Rearranging the position of the furniture in your bedroom could be just what you needed to reignite a love for your space. A new position for your desk or a chair could bring a whole new perspective, literally! When you take the time to move around your furniture consider if you use all the pieces taking up space.

3. Color-code your wardrobe

A color-coded wardrobe has been a trendy movement in 2020 because of The Home Edit and their fabulous Netflix show that premiered this fall. While the trend makes any closet look phenomenal, it also ensures that your closet user friendly. When you are thinking of grabbing that certain shirt just go to the color section and it will pop out to you with ease.

4. Remove Unnecessary Items

Unfortunately, when you live with roommates or family it can be hard to keep your things anywhere but your room. However, that doesn’t mean your bedroom should become a catch-all for duplicate items, things for storage, and other miscellaneous home goods. Re-evaluate where you can store items in your living space. If they can be moved to a new home besides your bedroom, it will be a win. Simplifying the room that is your safe place will allow for better sleep and a peaceful oasis.

5. Switch out your bedding

This can be accomplished by repairing and properly cleaning your comforter, pillow shams or blankets. If you are in the market for a new bedspread don’t be afraid to take the plunge.
