10 Ways to Create a Peaceful Bedroom
In the year 2020 we have spent a lot of time at home. In that time our bedrooms and living spaces have become the new office through no fault of our own. With less physical separation between work and home life it becomes easy for a space to be polluted with stressful energy. In this article we are going to discuss ways to reclaim your bedroom and cultivate a peaceful environment.
1. Declutter
This tip is always at the top of our list. Make sure your nightstands, closets, dressers etc. aren’t causing you stress. Get rid of everything that is subtracting from your joy.
2. Remove all work related items
If you are working from home, make sure to put away your work-related items at the end of the day. Also, if you can, designate a spot for work that isn’t in your bedroom.
3. Make your bed
While mornings can be hectic as we try to scurry out the door, if you have two minutes try to remember to make your bed. That way if you are working from home or from the office when you come into your room it will feel tidy and calm.
4. Close your closet door and drawers
When doors and drawers are left strewn open it can cause us subconscious stress. With everything closed we have a clean pallet for our eyeline.
5. Good Lighting and Candles
Taking the time to have excellent cozy lighting and a good candle nearby, will cater to the peaceful atmosphere. Have a lighter within reach so your favorite candle can be lit with ease.
6. Invest in good bedding
Making sure your bedding is cozy and luxurious is a great way to feel at home in your bedroom. Taking that extra step to invest in good pillows and sheets will take your bed to the next level.
7. Play peaceful music
If you still feel like you can’t relax, put on some calm music. It will boost your mood and cultivate a lovely environment to feel calm.
8. Stick with quiet colors
Painting your bedroom pastel or neutral colors will add to the serenity of the room.
9. Hang up cherished memories
Displaying family photos or pictures from a happy time in your life will spark joy. Choosing artwork for your room should be handled the same way. Ensuring that the art holds a special meaning will make it all the more enjoyable.
10. Keep a Small Carpet by your bed
If your room doesn’t have a rug or a carpet, consider purchasing a small one for the side of your bed. This way when you wake up in the morning the first thing your feet will touch is a cozy rug. If you are not a fan of that idea try keeping a fuzzy pair of socks next to the bed.
I hope this year everyone can find peace at home. We spend half our lives in our bedrooms so we might as well make it nice!
